{ Flexibility and Themes }
Below are some of the themes we are pursuing with the hope of finding some outstanding leaders in the following fields who can help us get started. This ongoing project has to be flexible and always a “work in progress”.
Health and fitness- facilities and seminars for learning how to take better care of yourself; teaching about the necessity of a healthy and clean environment and demonstrating these practices by building “green” buildings and recycling.
Organic gardening- find suitable places for organic gardening and edible landscape, where all ages can learn from this experience.
Market- booths filled with fresh, healthy produce and bouquets of fresh flowers that farmers and locals bring to sell. Have artisans and craftsmen display and sell their works. Use the market area to celebrate the seasons with festivals, national holidays and other types of interesting events.
Treats and dining- kiosks located in the garden where you can purchase such things as coffee, ice cream, soups and salads. Create cafés where you can linger longer to enjoy delicious and wholesome lunches and dinners.
Trustees’ Garden can become a very special cherished place for Savannah. All it needs is time, great ideas and the support of not only Savannahians but others from around the world.
