Two incredible, but distinct, jazz trios contrast the exuberance of youth and the wisdom of experience. Pianist Dick Hyman, guitarist Howard Alden and clarinet/saxophonist Ken Peplowski purvey refined swing while the young Gerald Clayton Trio delivers a skillful blend of swinging tradition and refreshing innovation.

Savannah-native Kristina Train has just released her long-awaited debut recording for Blue Note Records. While one can hear the distinct influence of ’60s & ’70s soul in her voice, she is a complete original with a thoroughly modern musical conception. Also on this very special double bill, Ruthie Foster has a distinctive sound steeped in soul, country and gospel music.
